Where did it all start?

Our company’s owners and founders have their roots in Zlín. That is also where you would have found the first restaurant we worked with: Malenovické Mbistro. For everyone who couldn’t get there, local kitchen wizard David made several recipes for our YouTube channel. You can try his epic veggie wrap, for example.

Sadly, Malenovické Mbistro has since closed. But don’t worry. You can try our jackies at one of these places instead.

Where can you eat jackfruit at Los Capolitos?

The biggest home of jackfruit dishes is the Mexican restaurant chain Los Capolitos. It is a family business run by the Kapolka brothers. It is built on real, tasty food and a young, lively team. And now on jackfruit too!

Los Capolitos care a lot about good ingredients. They also see that more and more people want plant-based food. They wanted to give the growing number of vegans and vegetarians in the Czech Republic a great Mexican meal. And of course, they wanted to please anyone else who likes to try something new. The goal was to keep the feel of marinated meat. So they replaced the meat with a plant-based option: jackfruit.

They put it on the menu in November 2021. Since then, they have seen more new guests, especially vegans and vegetarians, who love the food.

Where can you eat jackfruit in Plzeň, Ústí nad Labem and Karlovy Vary?

Jackfruit has won hearts in Plzeň too. If you live there or visit this lovely West Bohemian city, stop by the well-known La Chica restaurant. Its menu always has vegetarian pulled “meat” made from jackfruit. It goes perfectly in a quesadilla, tortilla or taco.

You can also try Sopa de lima con yaka. It is a hearty Mexican soup that smells of lime, and jackfruit takes the place of chicken. Whatever you pick, you can expect a great meal.

Do you live in Ústí, Karlovy Vary or Chomutov and don’t want to miss out on jackfruit? Then visit the popular Pepe Lopez restaurant. It won’t let you down.
